Emphysema and COPD
My sister-in-law has been a smoker for fifty years now and was just recently diagnosed with emphysema and COPD. She has quit smoking, but the damage is already done. Now she has two inhalers and a peak flow meter that she is constantly using. I expect that in the next few months she will be carrying around a portable oxygen tank. She doesn’t make the situation any better as she is overweight and absolutely refuses to do any exercise. I’ve never seen anyone who will drive around for twenty minutes just to get a parking space close to the door of a store. She’s one who believes a pill can cure anything; not this time.
