How to Set Up a Reptile Cage

Just like any animal cage, reptile cages should mimic the natural habitats of your cold-blooded pets.  To achieve a more natural-looking habitat, you need some accessories for reptile cages.  Here are some types of accessories that will make your reptile friends happy:

Rocks, sand, stones, foliage, and branches — These natural accessories are perfect for reptile cages because wide big rocks provide basking areas, while branches and sand-filled cages provide a more natural feel and look.  Different types of foliage offer hides for your pets, which is a very important part of a safe habitat.

Lid — Cold-blooded pets can get sneaky so make sure your reptile cages have lids made of plastic or mesh materials.  Keeping your pets safe and secure is one way to keep them happy and thriving.

Lighting source –  Some types of reptile pets require lighting sources such as lamps or heating beds.  This is because your cold-blooded pets need a constant source of heat throughout the day.  To save space and money, you can opt for reptile cages with built-in lights.  If your pets has special heating needs, then go for lamps and heating beds that’ll make the cage warm and cozy.  Don’t use hot rocks in keeping the cage warm because your pets can suffer from severe burns.
