losing weight

I do not think it is necessary to pay some high priced coach for a walking plan for weight loss.  I have lost 50 pounds with a combination of walking, strength training to help me build more muscle, and healthy eating.  Google and the Internet offer tons of helpful advice.  And even though there are specific walking plans out there that specify the number of minutes and type of intensity each day I found it took a lot of the fun out of walking.  All I need is my ipod and the knowledge I have learned about varying intensity and distance to keep my body from getting in a rut, and my mind as well.  A couple days a week I walk two miles as fast as I can.  At least one day a week I go for a longer walk that is at least four miles to help me build stamina.  And at least a couple of walks a week include hills and in the summer uneven terrain in the form of unpaved trails and walking in sand along the beach whenever I can.
