The Differences in Fish

The term fish chowder reminds me of an article in the local paper that I read many years ago but never forgot. A woman had moved here from some cold New England state and she was having a very hard time finding fish to make her favorite dishe’s. Excuse me? This is Minnesota, land of ten thousand lakes. It even says so on our license plates. Tourists come here from far and wide to fish. Walleyes are shipped out and served in some of the world’s finest restaurants. We also have blueberries and wild rice. I wonder if those are as insipid and inferior as our fish.
